JAIME ROMANÍ ADORNI (he/him)

  • Community-based activism, sexual reproductive health and rights, youth engagement, HIV prevention and education, comprehensive sex education (CSE), LGBTQ+ health and men’s sexual health.

  • Jaime is a Chilean sociologist based in Santiago and has dedicated most of his professional career in the field of public health and sexual and reproductive health. He began his work at Flacso Chile, developing research and community health projects throughout his country. Jaime has also worked developing LGBTQ+ workshops for healthcare professionals with ETSEX (Escuela Transdisciplinaria de Sexualidad) and is currently working at Fundación Chile Positivo, a non profit organization that promotes sex education and information to prevent HIV as well as provide services to help and empower people living with HIV in Chile and Latin America. In the past, Jaime has also worked as a consultant for the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) and with other international agencies and organizations, including the Global Network of Young People Living with HIV (Y+ Global), the Global Advisory Board for Sexual Health and Wellbeing (GAB) and The Pleasure Project.

    As a committed activist and advocate for sexual and reproductive justice, Jaime has also worked as a volunteer for LGBTQ+ organizations as well as chaired the non profit organization called Sochisex (or ‘Sociedad chilena de sexualidades’) where he, along a team of passionate professionals and activists, promoted sexual rights.

    Jaime will start his Master in Public Policy at Sciences Po in Paris later this year.

  • In his free time, Jaime enjoys reading poetry, playing video games, watching horror films and learning new languages.
