Eric's determination to fight for LGBTQ rights stems from his experiences growing up queer in Uganda as well as persecution from both state and non-state actors, including arbitrary detention and forced anal examinations, and he is further inspired by the tenacity of LGBTIQ movement leaders who have demonstrated that everyone has the right to exist as humans and access SRHR services without discrimination, even in the most homophobic environments. They co-developed the KuchuCare App that connects queer people in Uganda directly to friendly SRHR services.
