Venoranda Rebeccca Kuboka’s area of expertise is social work and counselling psychology. She has worked in the field of Reproductive Health and Rights for over five years, with the aim of empowering, promoting social change and advocating for issues affecting young people.
Currently she is the team leader at Youth Changers Kenya which is a grassroots organization that aims at promoting Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (ASRH&R) through building the capacity of girls and young people from the Limuru and Nairobi areas.
Venoranda is involved in advocacy at the international, national and regional level, lobbying and advocating for policy reforms on sexual reproductive health and rights. She has actively participated in the ICPD Programme of Action representing young people and working closely with decision makers in New York City, Addis Ababa and at the national level in Kenya.
Venoranda has written articles in local newspapers on the topics of youth-friendly services, parent youth communication, and sexuality. She has vast experience with the Kenyan media through interviews, features and radio programs where she has worked to highlight issues affecting young adolescent girls and young people.
Venoranda has been recognized as an Ambassador of Change as a result of an initiative she created in her home area to create awareness around health issues and to reach out to youth.
