Ruth Nara (also known as Geena) is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences where her thesis focuses on the reproductive health of conflict-affected refugees in Uganda. Ruth has presented her research at several conferences including: various international meetings and conferences including the 17th Annual Inter- agency working group on reproductive health in crises; the 23rd Canadian Conference on Global Health; and the 2017 EC Jamboree. More recently, Ruth was awarded an OceanPath Fellowship where she will develop a community-asset based refugee girls mentoring program in Canada. She is also the immediate past recipient of the Maternal and Child Health research award at the International Development Research Centre, where she supported the review of Call for proposals for research projects focusing on Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health and Health Information Systems in West Africa and the Middle East and North Africa.
Ruth holds a Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science. In Ruth's free time, she enjoys Sudoku, reading and learning about different cultures.
