During his time with YC, Nick worked in the head office in Ottawa and also participated in a high-level meeting in Dakar, Senegal. Having previously worked in the field of sexual health and advocacy, his experience at YC only helped further establish his strong sense of responsibility to social justice and development, with an emphasis on youth advocacy. After leaving Youth Coalition, Nick pursued a graduate degree at the Harvard Graduate School of Education focused on creating stronger linkages between school systems and outside social development organizations. Part of this research focused on the need to integrate sexual health promotion programs into school curriculum. Nick also worked in Program Activities for the International AIDS Conference in Toronto in 2006. More recently, Nick has been involved with school reform organizations such as People for Education and The Center for Urban Schooling doing research on best practices and social development in education. He also continues his passion for running, travel and eating new and exciting food. In the Fall, Nick plans to work as a teacher in Toronto and continues to work with schools to ensure a comprehensive social justice curriculum is delivered.
