Gift is an adolescent and youth Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) advocate. Before joining the Youth Coalition, Gift spent seven years volunteering with charity organisations including Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) and the Planned Parenthood Association of Zambia (PPAZ). His work experience involves a great deal of research, requiring initiative, self-motivation and a wide range of skills, which has prepared him to advocate for young people’s and women’s sexual and reproductive health and rights. Gift also has experience in HIV prevention, community mobilization, pediatric drug abuse and social change awareness for delinquent youths, as well as adherence counseling for antiretroviral therapies (ART) defectors. Gift is currently a project coordinator for Zambia Community HIV Prevention Programme (Z-CHPP) at PPAZ.
Gift enjoys reading research journals; his favourite is by Dan Buettner, a National Geographic Fellow and multiple New York Times bestselling author who discovered, through multiple expeditions with teams of research scientists specializing in population studies, the five places in the world – dubbed Blue Zones – where people live the longest, and are healthiest and happiest.
Gift’s professional interest is in public health. He holds a Diploma in Public Health and a Certificate in Psychosocial counseling.
